RE: DEADLINE EXTENSION FOR MAY 7, 2010 NOTICE OF VIOLATION
Dear Mr. Hathaway,
At our meeting on June 14, 2010 with the parties of record to permit CU -2008-0040, we discussed
extending the permit timeline past August 11, 2010 in order to allow sufficient time to produce the
required plans, review and approve them, and complete site work by the start of the rainy season. On
June 23, 2010, Mr. Strand submitted a request to extend the subject permit as had been discussed. On
June 29, 2010, the City granted an extension of CU -08-40 through November 1, 2010.
The City of Edmonds issued to you a Notice of Violation (NOV) on May 7, 2010 for illegally removing
four trees from the Strand's parcel at 17035 76'h Avenue West on January 24, 2010. This Notice was not
timely appealed and indicates that all appropriate corrective action must be completed by August 11,
2010. In order to keep the NOV and CU -08-40 on similar timelines, the City is hereby extending the
deadline for compliance with your May 7, 2010 Notice of Violation through November 1, 2010. The
remainder of the NOV remains otherwise unchanged including the deadline for payment of civil
penalties.
