Subject: Ridge Heights — City of Edmonds File No. PLN20130020
To Whom It Concerns:
On April 12 and April 23, 2019, 1 performed a ridge height study for the finished roofs on Lot B (7235
Soundview Lane) and Lot C (7237 Soundview Lane) of the City of Edmonds Short Subdivision
PLN20130020.
Instrumentation used was a Leica TCRP 1203 in reflectorless (RL) mode last calibrated within the year
per factory recommended methods.
The elevation on the main north/south running ridge of house #7235 was measured to the top of the
roof ridge cap shingle less two inches (0.16 feet) and less on -half inch (0.04 feet to bottom of roof
decking (minimum construction standard) for a combined reduction of 0.20 feet.
The finished elevations on the mid -peak of house #7237 were measured twice: Once (Method 1) to
the underside of the main roof shingles (below the roof ridge cap) assumed bottom of roof decking
(construction standard) and again (Method 2) to the top of the roof ridge cap shingle less two inches
(0.16 feet) and less one-half inch (0.04 feet) to bottom of roof decking (minimum construction standard)
for a combined reduction of 0.20 feet.
The bottom of the roof decking (as reduced) in all cases will be assumed to be the top of the ridge
board.
Elevation accuracy is +/- 0.04 feet (1/2"). Ridges are assumed to be level. Elevations noted are in
decimal feet and as converted to feet -inches. Inches are rounded to the nearest one -quarter inch.

Lot B (#7235):
1. Main ridge (north/south): elevation equals 101.18 or 101' — 2-1/4". (plan max 101.62).
Lot C (#7237)
1. Mid peak (high point above back of garage) / Method 1: elevation equals 89.68 or 89' — 8-1/4".
(plan max 89.75).
2. Mid peak (high point above back of garage) / Method 2: elevation equals 89.69 or 89' — 8-1/4".
(plan max 89.75).
did not directly shoot the top of any ridge beams as construction prevents access to said surface.
The above elevations should be considered accurate with allowances for variations in construction
methods and materials.
