Dear Marr & Joanne:
The Grounds Committee of Elm Place recommended that the Board of Directors
review and approve your landscape proposal. I am happy to inform you that at the
Board Meeting tonight, the Board of Directors voted unanimously in approval.
We understand that you wish to remove existing shrubbery and replace them with
attractive, healthy plants. We also understand that you wish to remove the
overgrown trees whose root systems will soon impact the integrity of your home.
We appreciate the improvements you are doing to your property, including these
landscape improvements.
Sincerely,

Dear Mark and Joanne:
Thank you for your recent submission of proposed landscaping changes for your lot. We
appreciate that the previous homeowner intentionally let his grounds grow freely, and that
some necessary work has previously been neglected, which undoubtedly increases the
work to be done.
This is to inform you that the Grounds Committee has unanimously approved your request
to change your landscaping, including removal of ivy and other undergrowth as well as the
trees in question.
If our Committee may be of any assistance in accomplishing these tasks, please feel free to
contact me.
Very truly yours,
JAN BUSH, Chair

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Donelson
610 Elm Place
Edmonds, WA 98020
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Donelson:
Welcome to Elm Place! We are happy to have new friends at 610 Elm Place, and hope
that you enjoy your new home.
I am sure you know that the committee will be happy to assist you in any way we can; in
fact, I believe that some of our members have talked with you already. We understand
that you have some plans in mind for the trees in your front yard. We are quite familiar
with the time and energy it can take to plan changes and to then get those changes
approved with the city, etc.
However, we have been concerned for some months about the overhang of some of the
branches of your large trees into the sidewalk area. We feel that this is hazardous to
anyone using the sidewalk, especially some of the older folks. We never had any real
cooperation with the previous owner of your home, and were contemplating taking
action on our own, as allowed in our covenants. It will be much easier now if we could
meet, at your convenience, and just discuss what we have in mind.
I will take the liberty of contacting you to set up a visit soon. And, again, WELCOME!
Very truly yours,
JA BUSH
