According to conversation with the lead contractor on site, Thursday November 5, it was

understood that the sidewalk was to be opened by the end of the week of November 9. If sidewalk
was to be constructed within the week, a temporary path of gravel was to be placed until required
frontage improvements were constructed or temporary asphalt was to be placed. Please address the
following issue.
1.At this time the city requires the sidewalk be re-opened by the end of day Thursday November

19. A path of temporary asphalt 5’ in width shall be placed in line with the existing sidewalk.
Any other obstructions, such as sanitary cans, shall be removed from the right of way.

-The city inspector will stop by Friday November 20 to verify the work has been completed and
the sidewalk is open.

a.If it is intended to construct the frontage improvements within one week time (by 11/18/15),
compacted gravel would be an acceptable temporary path where a hard surface (concrete or
asphalt) is not currently established.
b.If the frontage improvements are not scheduled to be constructed by 11/18/15, temporary
asphalt 5’ in width shall be placed in line with the existing sidewalk.
