Parking
Parking
Parking Standard Considered Most Appropriate: ECDC 17.50.020.A.1.b (below) shows that the required number of
parking spaces per dwelling unit are dependant upon the number of bedrooms. It was difficult from the plans
submitted to tell how many bedrooms were in the building, but a conservative assumption using the 2.0 ratio and 4
dwelling units yields 8 parking spaces. The applicant must show how they can accommodate 8 parking spaces on
site.
Type of multiple dwelling unit Required parking spaces per dwelling unit
Studio 1.2
1 bedroom 1.5
2 bedrooms 1.8
3 or more bedrooms 2.0
Dependant on the number of bedrooms on site, the required parking spaces may result in a fraction. If this is the
case, refer to ECDC 17.50.030.E: “When the requirements of this chapter result in a fractional number of parking
spaces, one space shall be provided for a fraction of one-half or more, and no space shall be required for a fraction
of less than one-half.”
