Dear Mr. Knijnikov,
The City has received a complaint regarding an accessory structure constructed in the SW corner
of your property that is in the set back and over 120 square feet.
The subject property is in the RS-8 Zone which requires a 7-1/2 foot side yard setback. An
accessory structure under 600 square feet can have the rear setback reduced to 5 feet. Eaves may
project into the required setback not more than 30 inches. A building permit is required for
accessory structures over 120 square feet.
Corrective actions required:
• Please contact me at your earliest convenience by September 18, 2007 to confirm receipt
of this information and to review the following corrective actions. An Order to Correct is
issued if contact is not made.
• Please submit a complete application and fees for a building permit by October 10, 2007.
A handout is enclosed regarding accessory buildings.
o Or, you may choose to reduce the building to 120 square feet or less*.
• Regardless of size, or permit status, the building needs to comply with the 7-1/2 foot side
setback and 5 foot rear setback* by October 10, 2007.
* Inspection required.
