Dear Proprietor,
It was noted that you have recently constructed a sign on the light pole without first obtaining a building
permit and planning approval. While researching the sign permit, it was discovered that no permits had
been obtained for the current signage as required in the Edmonds Community Development Code (ECDC).
Apparently, a partial permit application (BLD20161182) was submitted at one point, but expired in April,
2017.
20.60.010 Permit required.
A. Except as provided in this chapter, no permanent sign may be constructed, installed, posted, displayed
or modified without first obtaining a sign permit approving the proposed sign's size, design, location, and
display as provided for in this chapter.
You may want to contact the "Planner on duty" or a Permit Coordinator if you have questions regarding
sign requirements or submittal information. The office is closed on Wednesday afternoons.
Corrective actions required:
• Please make a complete application for a sign permit for any and all signs by December 19,
2017. An Order to Correct Violation Notice will be issued if a complete application is not
received.
• If no approvals (permit, final inspection) are obtained or if either sign is denied approval,
please remove the sign(s) by December 31, 2017.
