My name is Art Jones and I live at 267 - 4'h Ave. S. in Edmonds, my telephone # is 206-972-0295
The condominium that we live in, and several others that face 4th Ave. S. — have garages that
open to the alley running between 4th and 5t" avenues.
The traffic in that alley is getting heavier and the new construction will of course cause another
slight increase. All this is fine, but there are two concerns that I have.

2. As you exit the alley headed south onto Walnut St. -® to the immediate left there is
currently a yellow stripe indicating a no parking area. The yellow stripe is often
ignored as the very busy and fine operation of the "Walnut Street Caf6" attracts a lot
of customers. Can there be a sign that says "NO PARKING" placed in that spot? Often
exiting the alley (as all the home owners must) is very dangerous when a car is
parked in the striped area and blocking the sightline needed for egress.
Thank you for looking into this and we appreciate the work that you and others do to keep the
city as safe and attractive as possible.
Arthur L. Jones
