Please accept this letter as the City's notice to applicant of determination of completeness pursuant to ECDC 20.02.003. All three applications will be presented to the Architectural Design Board (ADB) on April 18, 2012. The ADB meeting takes place in the Council Chambers at 250 - 5th Avenue N beginning at 7 p.m. It is important that a representative of the applicant is present for the ADB meeting. City staff generally likes the designs of the Upper Dayton Retail Building and Boardwalk Retail Buildings and feel this will be an improvement over existing conditions. Staff also generally likes the design of the main Old Mill Town building too, but would like to offer a few suggestions (which will be included in the staff report to the ADB). The City would like to see the recessed area on the upper level the same color as the band of brown rectangles in the center of the building. We feel this would really make the corners of the building stand out and give the building more of an urban feel. Additionally, staff would like to see the columns on the northern facade of the building continue to extend up into the second level.
