Re: Wayne Stanton - 558 Dayton
Case # ZE-06-64 OL'po'Zy4
Dear Mr. Bjorback and Mr. Thies:
I represent Wayne Stanton, and I am writing to you on his behalf.
As you know, Mr. Stanton has been working to clean out and take down the shed on the
SW corner of his property, as requested by the City. As I am sure you also know, progress has
been slow over the last few months. The reality is that this is a daunting task for Mr. Stanton — he
is over 80 years old, and he is required to spend a good portion of his time helping and taking care
of his wife, who is confined to a wheelchair. He also has his own physical limitations. He has
been trying to do his best on the shed as time permits and his physical ability allows, but now
realizes he cannot finish the project by December 3`d, the date that his demolition permit expires.
To speed up the process, Mr. Stanton has recently had a dumpster delivered, and has
enlisted friends and neighbors to help him clean out the shed. I have been told that he has also
arranged for an equipment operator to demolish the shed as soon as it is cleaned out. They believe
that the shed can be removed in less than two weeks. Having just left the site a few minutes ago,
I can report that significant progress has been made in the last couple of days.

Although Mr. Stanton believes he can have this work complete in two weeks, I am writing
to request that he be given an additional 30 days to remove the shed, and an extension of his
demolition permit for that same period of time. Although I understand that the City has been
patient with Mr. Stanton and that this work should have been finished by now, I believe the request
is reasonable given his personal circumstance. I have spent quite a bit of time discussing the
importance of completing this project with Mr. Stanton, and I am comfortable that he understands
that no further extensions will be considered.
If you have any questions regarding this letter, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Otherwise, thank you for considering this request.
Sincer y,
Rick Wurdeman
