Dear Mr. McKay:
The City of Edmonds has reviewed the updated survey submitted on May 12, 2010 for your application for a

lot line adjustment between the properties at 22039 and 22047 – 98 Place West. The majority of my
questions in my letter dated April 27, 2010 have been addressed; however the following correction must still
be made before staff’s review can continue:
1.The minimum required side setback from the property line being shifted between the two properties is
7.5 feet to both the north and the south of this property line. Setbacks are measured as a radius from
all corners in a property line. A 7.5-foot line was drawn parallel to the proposed property line;
however, this setback line must be at a radius from all bends in the property line. Thus, it appears that
a portion of the covered deck will not comply with the minimum required 7.5-foot setback from the
new property line. Please adjust the proposed property line as necessary so that the shortest distances
from all structures on each property to the new property line are a minimum of 7.5 feet (sometimes the
shortest distance is at a radius from corners of structures and/or property lines).
