RE: 2081872 d Avenue West, Edmonds, WA
Dear Ms. McCullough,
This letter is in response to your letter received by the City on November 24, 2008, where
you state that the letter is a "notice of use change" for the subject property to a single
family residence and that this "resolves the City's requirements".
The last building permit issued for this property was for a recreation room addition to a
single family residence. In reviewing past correspondence and expired permit application
plans and documents, it appears that the subject building was converted from a single
family residence to a day care without first obtaining the required building permits, and
has since been further converted to a triplex without first obtaining the required building
permits. In order to change the triplex back to a single family residence, a building
permit is required for previous remodeling done without building permits, and to remodel
the configuration of the structure from three dwelling units into one dwelling unit,
including but not limited to removal of two kitchens.
Please submit a permit application, plans, written bid for all work (fair market labor and
materials) and fees for the above rioted project by 3:30 pm, January 30, 2009. Failure to
do so will result in the issuance of an Order to Correct Violation, the first stage of the
civil penalties process, which can lead to fines of $100 per day until the code violations
are resolved.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 425-771-0220 during
City business hours.
