Four new Douglas-fir trees have been planted (1:1 ratio) and the planting sites contain a layer of woodchip mulch and irrigation. The planting sites are weed free and several new plantings along the slope were observed. The removed trees have been used on the slope for landscape terracing. The invasive blackberry and ivy have been removed, as planned, along the NW section of the slope. Two new small maple trees (Acer Palamatum) have been planted as replacements for the two small red alders that were removed, as recommended by the arborist. Two old alders in the photo below were approved to be removed with this permit, so long as two replacement trees were first planted. Said replacement trees have been planted, as confirmed during inspection, so the owner may proceed with removing the two small alders as approved.
