Dear Mr. Crabb,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. The following
information is needed to approve the application:
1.Site Plan. The site plan submitted with the application is not to scale. Please provide a
site plan at the scale of 1 inch = 20 feet. Also please clearly identify the area of the
retaining wall to be replaced.
2.Revision to Geotech Report. Please have the Geotechnical Engineer revise his report to
reflect that there will be no increased risk to the life or property as a result of the rock
wall replacement.
NOTE TO GEOTECH: The rockery to be replaced falls within a critical area, more
specifically a landslide hazard area, as defined by the Edmonds Community
Development Code (ECDC) 23.80.020B. Refer to ECDC 23.40.220C3 which states,
Permitted Alteration to Structures Existing Within Critical Areas and/or Buffers.
Permitted alteration to a legally constructed structure existing within a critical area or
buffer that does not increase the footprint of development or increase the impact to the
critical area or buffer and there is no increased risk to life or property as a result of the
proposed modification or replacement
Please make all submittals to a Development Services Permit Coordinator, Monday through
Friday, 9:00 am to noon or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Please submit three copies of the site plan and
two copies of the geotech report. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at (425) 771-
