Code Issue:
What are the minimum dimensions necessary for an elevator car to accommodate an ambulance
stretcher?
Interpretation:
Where elevator cars are required to accommodate a 24-inch by 84-inch ambulance stretcher, it is
permissible to assume the corners of the stretcher will have a 5-inch radius, rather than square corners.
