Dear Mr. Booth,
It is presumed that you are the new owner of the subject property from Auditor records. The
Assessors records currently indicate that Kenneth Olsen is the owner and you are the taxpayer of
record.
It is also assumed that Mr. Olsen and your title company disclosed the covenant (#7609230186)
with the City of Edmonds filed on September 23, 1976 that requires the garage and the storage
area above to be used as an accessory building and be in compliance with all applicable codes.
Mr. Olsen probably also disclosed the code enforcement action regarding the unit’s use that took
place in 2004/2005.
It appears that the storage area over the garage is again being used as living quarters or habitable
space. The City requests to inspect the storage area over the garage to confirm that the kitchen
facilities remain removed and that the unit is used as an accessory building only.
Several documents have been enclosed including a copy of the covenant, the staff reports that
preceded it and the Edmonds Board of Adjustment Hearing dated July 21, 1976.
Please contact me by January 17, 2007 to arrange an inspection to be completed by January 25,
2007.
