RE: Request for Driveway Slope Waiver at 1115 Olympic Ave.
Dear Ken,
This letter is in response to your letter dated September 8, 2009, requesting a driveway
slope waiver over 1,4% at the above address due to the grade of the existing access road
and grade difference between the access road and grade of the new garage.
After reviewing the request, we understand that the elevation of the garage slab was
established to be as high as possible given the topographic restraints and building height
limits. tt would not be -feasible to raise the grade of the garage slab and/or reconstruct the
existing road and surrounding properties to keep the driveway slope under 14%.
Therefore, based on the above determination, the city approves your request for a
driveway slope waiver up to 19% within approximately the first 20' of the new driveway,
not to exceed 20%. After approximately the first 20' of the new driveway the slope shall
remain 14% or less.
