RE:Plan review for trash collection scenario
BLD20190026 – 546 Paradise Lane, Edmonds
The proposed site plan shows no trash enclosure so it is assumed there is a desire for each unit to subscribe for independent garbage and recycle collection service. This condition
can be approved but it would cause some limitation and inconvenience to nearly half of the residents.
According to the waste hauling company that would service this property, the access onto and off of the site is safely accomplished by having the turnaround ability shown between Buildings
B and C. However the trucks cannot negotiate to provide direct service to the 5 units fronting the 15-foot wide drive aisle between Buildings A and B due to it being much narrower
and having inadequate turning radii. Therefore those residents would have to stage their containers in a spot roughly south of their buildings, along the main drive aisle. Adequate
space would need to be provided and dedicated for that staging scenario.
With this reality, you may also consider providing a central trash enclosure for the property. Our enclosure policy calls for a minimum 12-foot deep by 12-foot wide footprint for multi-family
properties of 7-12 units. Please let me know if you have any questions.
