RE:
Plan review comments and considerations
#2007-1181 PCC Natural Market
Trash enclosure review does not require any additional screening to the existing waste
collection area at this location. However there may be some consideration of the existing
conditions in this area, since it is shared with the delivery/unloading area, notably the
lack of adequate space for both activities and any safety issues that due to restricted
access.
Solid waste collection has evolved to where full-service commercial organics collection
is available and is the type of service that caters easily to major grocers and restaurants.
PCC, with its environmental stewardship well established, is already diverting this type
of waste at their other locations, and I hope would pursue the same at this outlet.
I mention all this because the existing site does not easily allow enhanced collection
services, due to the space constraints, etc. Has there been any thought to providing for
better solid waste management? Is there opportunities on the east side of the structure to
be accessible for collection to take place in that area?
Now is the time to consider providing some means to a safer and better collection
scenario.
