Please submit 3 sets of revised drawings to a Development Services Permit Coordinator, if required, or a written response to the review comments to the Development Services Permit Coordinator and the Pretreatment Reviewer. 1. Pretreatment has signed off for your Sanitary Plumbing Plans. The line drawings look good. However, this is conditional that the existing grease interceptor passes the visual inspection when it is empty and also passes the 24-hour leak test. From past inspections, I expect the vessel to be in good condition, however, I have not seen it Note #1: While not required, I strongly suggest you consider coating the empty. inside of the vessel with a coal tar epoxy or similar coating after the surface is properly prepared. This could help to eliminate future costly leak repairs. I have seen a number of approximately ten-year old grease interceptors begin to leak and need repair. Note#2: When I am inspecting the empty grease interceptor, if the grease interceptor down-legs are not secured, I will require (2) stainless steel unistruts with conduit holders that match the plumbing (below the water surface) to support each downleg for the grease interceptor. This prevents the down-legs being accidentally being knocked off during the grease interceptor cleaning and requiring a costly repair. Please call me Monday-Thursday for questions and assistance.
