Please submit 3 sets of revised drawings to a Development Services Permit Coordinator, if required, or a written response to the review comments to the Development Services Permit Coordinator and the Pretreatment Reviewer. Please respond in writing (to the Development Services Permit Coordinator and Cc Pretreatment by fax or email - note: Email preferred) to the items listed below: 1.Your proposed GI calculation using Appendix H is acceptable. Please understand that a 1000 gal. grease interceptor (GI) is permissible, conditional that no disposals will be connected in your kitchen, as currently indicated in your submitted plans. 2.For Pretreatment to sign off, a cut sheet showing the GI detail will be required as well as the plumbing/mechanical showing the appropriate fixtures connected to the GI. Please see the enclosed cut sheet of a typical GI. The GI should have: 6” PVC lines Proper venting Brackets supporting all downlegs Specified for traffic Graded away from the manholes to prevent runoff from entering the GI. M/H covers for each downleg Other Comments: 1. Please have the GI installer notify me prior to the setting of the GI. I prefer to be present during the setting of the vessel to eliminate potential problems. 2. Be sure to check with the County Health Department for requirements and the proper connection of the sanitize sink etc. 3.I an also enclosing a signed Grease Interceptor Sizing Sheet. You will need this for your Permit Submittal. The 1000 gal approval is the minimum size required. It should be adequate with good best management practices in the kitchen. However, I would consider evaluating the cost effectiveness of increasing the GI up to 1500gal. This could potentially save on pump-out costs. 4.Please contact me for any questions or assistance.
