Dear Mr. Rifai
I have reviewed the resubmitted site plan and elevation plans for your building permit application. Although
changes have been made to address information noted in my August 25th letter, the following information and
corrections still need to be addressed before review can continue:
Height Calculations: Please make the following corrections regarding your height calculations on the
site plan. I have attached the City's Height Calculation Information handout (4B41) to assist you.
• Place an elevation label on your datum point
• Label the four elevation points around the house as points A, B, C and D.
• Include only the elevation of the original, undisturbed soil next to each of the elevation points
• Include a height calculation chart that includes the following:
o All four elevation points, their sum and the average grade (calculated by the sum of all four
elevation points divided by 4)
o The average grade elevation
o The maximum allowed building height (for this zone it is 25 feet)
o The actual height of the house
• Update the elevation plan view (sheet A4) showing the average grade, the maximum height, based
off of the average grade calculation, and actual height of the house in accordance with the Height
Calculation Information handout (Sample Elevation).
Please Note: Additional comments from the Building Division and Engineering Division may require
additional changes to the site plan beyond those discussed above. A revised site plan addressing the above
cited issues should be completed once you have received comments from the other reviewing divisions.
Please submit three copies of your revised site plan (including one reduced copy) and two copies of any revised
building plan sheets to a Development Services Permit Coordinator. Our office hours are Mondays, Tuesdays,
Thursdays, and Fridays between 8:00am and 4:30pm. The office is closed on Wednesday. If you have any
