RE: COMMENTS #1 ON NATIVE VEGETATION PLAN FOR NORTON SHORT PLAT
LOCATED AT 806 CARY RD., FILE NO. PLN20170055
The Planning Division has reviewed the native vegetation plan within your civil plan submittal received on
June 26, 2018 for the above project, and it was found that the following will need to be addressed before
review can continue. Please provide a revised native vegetation plan addressing the following:
1. Describe the vegetation that is currently present within this area, including descriptions of what
existing vegetation is native, non-native, or invasive.
2. Describe what work is needed, if any, in order to remove any existing non-native or invasive species
from within this area. If any planting is necessary in order to revegetate any areas where non-native
and/or invasive species are removed, provide the species, sizing, and installation instructions of all
proposed vegetation.
3. Include provisions for maintenance of the native vegetation area into the future (i.e. how will this
area be maintained into the future, what will be done for control of invasive species, how will any
vegetation that requires removal in the future be replaced?)
4. Include a reference that all maintenance activities and/or vegetation cutting must be consistent with
the applicable provisions of the tree cutting code (ECDC 18.45) and critical areas code (ECDC 23.40
through 23.90), or as amended.
5. Include provisions for how any future changes to the boundaries of the native vegetation area or to
the vegetation management plan could be made if so desired by the current or future property
owner(s).
6. Please keep in mind that mowed lawn is not allowed within the native vegetation area. For
additional direction on the native vegetation requirements, you may refer to the preliminary approval
staff report for the subject application.
Please make the above changes and submit the revised native vegetation plan to a Planner. Our office hours
are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday between 8:00 am 4:30 pm or Wednesday 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.
