RE: Request for Alternate Methods and Materials – Air Admittance Valve @ 15625 75th Place West
Dear Mr. Hoover,
The City is in receipt of your request for Alternate Materials and Methods of Construction Equivalency
(reference building permit application B LD2008-0376, STF2009-00012) for installation of an air
admittance valve for a kitchen sink.
• The letter of request must be signed by the property owner and state that the request is be made
per UPC 301.2 Materials and Methods of Construction Equivalency. In addition to the reasons
for the request already contained in the previously submitted letter, include a statement that the
owner understands that air admittance valves are not an approved method of venting in the
State adopted Uniform Plumbing Code, are aware that this request for use of an air admittance
valve as an exception to the code, and understand the maintenance requirements of the air
admittance valve.
• Specify the model of Studor Vent that you are proposing to use
Please provide response to the above information and we will review concurrently with the resubmittal
for the Tenant Improvement permit application.
