Jen,
See response below in red from our civil engineer. If you need anything else please let me know.
When will your review be complete?
I’m working through my review of your resubmittal for the Edmonds Memory Care Facility, and have
a couple of quick questions regarding the change in grading quantities between the time of the SEPA
review and the current plans. The quantity of stripping on the current plans appears relatively close
to the quantity of strippingstated on the environmental checklist. (Note: The stripping material will
be removed from the site) The current plans, however, indicate an increase of approximately 1,000
cubic yards in the quantities of both cut and fill. I’m wondering if this net change in material is
staying on the site (i.e. the additional 1,000 cubic yards of cut is being used for the additional 1,000
cubic yards of fill elsewhere on the site) The additional 1,120 cubic yards (+/-) of cut will be used on
the site as fill material. Or, are you completely removing an additional approximate 1,000 cubic
yards of cut from the site and bringing in another approximate 1,000 cubic yards of fill onto the site
from elsewhere? The additional 930 cubic yards (+/-) of fill will be imported from a local source. If
so, is this because you need to replace poor soils on the site? No. The additional fill material is
required to achieve the proposed grading elevations stated on the final civil engineering
construction plans.
