RE: BLD2015-0794
Chuck,
I have reviewed your corrections and have modified or clarified the
following items:
1a) Changed wording on sheet 1, ( P) 1.
1b) Changed the wording on sheet 1, (Q)2
1c) Changed the wording on sheet 1, (Q)4
1d) Changed the wording on sheet 1, (U)20.
2a) 1Ne had to cut 2' off the depth of the covered patio for setback
reasons, so I have included the new beam calcs(B-2) and gravity load
calculations for the embedded post. Both meet requirements.
2b) 5hear transfer through concrete occurs at approximately a 1:1 ratio
throughout the height of the concrete wall (no reinforcement, worst case.)
Therefore with an 18" minimum stem wall, a 6" minimum footing and (2)
2X4'5, it will transfer the load across 53" of footing (24" + 3" post.)
5o.... 4.25 X 1= 4.25 X 2000 #/5q ft = 8500# allowable. The reaction at the
end of the girder truss is 7200# which is < 8500 therefore is allowed.
Sketch included.
2c) I have widened the footing across the garage front to 16" to
accommodate the load.
3a) 5afety glazing is not required in storage closets less than 3' or less
in depth per 8308.4.2. I have dimensioned the closet to be less than
31-011.
'-O".
3b) T5(5 has been noted on the dining window.
3c) A UA alternative worksheet has been completed and enclosed.
3d) Has been duly noted on sheet 4.

4a) I have the E and W elevations fixed, got them mixed up. The window
is a 5'X 4' on the east side.
4b) 5ame as above.
4c) Have noted on sheet 5 and have submitted calcs.
4d) At dining room I have added a note and provided calcs. The living
room end of the girder actually lands on a beam, but have added a note at
end of beam and provided calculations.
4e) I have added a note and provided calcs for both beam and column on
each side of header.
4f) Have noted on sheet 5 and have submitted calcs.
4g) I have the E and W elevations fixed, got them mixed up. It is a 3'-9" X
31-611.
4h) I did not calculate columns with minimal loading. This one had only
1076# which is easily taken care of with normal framing with a king
stud and cripple (2-2X4 total.) Calculations represent a worst case.
40 1 did not calculate columns with minimal loading. This one had only
175"7# which is easily taken care of with normal framing with a king
stud and cripple (2-2X4 total.) Calculations represent a worst case.
4j) I did not calculate columns with minimal loading. This one had only
1757# which is easily taken care of with normal framing with a king
stud and cripple (2-2X4 total.) Calculations represent a worst case.
