On sheet A1.0 — General Info, Vicinity Map, Site Plan & Sheet Index:
1. General Information
a. Codes —Add to the plans a reference to the International Existing Building Code (IEBC) that governs the
repair, alteration, change of occupancy, addition to and relocation of existing buildings per International
Building Code (IBC)101.4.7.
Reference has been added under GENERAL INFORMATION on Sheet A1.0.
b. Occupancy Type —Change on the plans the occupancy classification for the use of the space for
services such as dry cleaning and laundries (pick-up and delivery stations and self-service) from 'M' to
'Business Group B' per IBC 304.1.
Occupancy Type classification has been changed under GENERAL INFORMATION on Sheet A1.0.
c. Occupancy Classification of Adjacent Neighbors — Change on the plans the occupancy classification of
the adjacent tenants from 'Group M — Mercantile' to that reflecting the currently permitted uses as
follows:
• To the north — Assembly Group A-2'
• To the south — Business Group B'
Occupancy classification of Adjacent Neighbors have been changed under GENERAL INFORMATION on
Sheet A1.0.

a. Indicate on the plans the required maintenance of the one -hour fire -resistance rated assembly
separating the adjacent 'Assembly Group A-2' occupancy while performing work under this and
related permits.
Note bas been added to Sheet A2.0 to protect the one -hour fire -resistance rated assembly.
b. Clarify on the plans the note '50x40 vinyl slider' in the area near the dryers.
Note has been deleted from the drawing on Sheet A2.0.
c. Clarify on the plan the represented placement of the water heater serving the lavatory in the restroom
(labeled 'Bath'). It does not appear to meet the maximum piping length per WSEC Table C404.3.1.
Utilization of an instantaneous water heater for the lavatory is typically proposed to avoid having to
install a tank -type water heater in the same space and still meet the accessibility requirements of ICC
A117.1-2009.
Note has been added to add instantaneous water heater in the restroom for the lavatory on Sheet A2.0.
4. Fixture Mounting Heights —Toilet Accessories —Indicate on the plans the required fixed side wall vertical
grab bar per ICC A117.1-2009 section 604.5.1.
Note has been added to floor plan on Sheet A2.0.
On sheet A3.0 — Partial Building Section & Details:
5. Partial Building Section Looking North
a. Change on the plans the referenced details regarding the repair of the suspended ceilings from '2 and 3'
to'1 and 2'.
Note has been changed on building section on Sheet A3.0.
b. Clarify on the plans the indicated attachment of the top of the'typical interior partitions' to the
suspended acoustical tile ceiling or GWB ceiling. Partitions may not be supported by a suspended
ceiling alone unless designed by an engineer.
We are not attaching the partition to the acoustical tile ceiling but extending studs at 4'-0" o.c. and
attaching to the structural above. See notes on building section on Sheet A3.0.
c. Indicate on the plans the minimum required attachment of the base of the 'typical interior partition' to
the floor below. The plans must specify the fastener to be used and its spacing to guide proper
construction and inspection.

d. Construction Type —Change on the plans the 'label'for the 'Alteration Level 2' classification for the
proposed work from 'Construction Type' to 'Classification of Work' per IEBC 504.
Construction Type label has been changed under GENERAL INFORMATION on Sheet A1.0.
e. Accessibility —Change on the plans the 'wording'regarding the extent of accessible provisions
required/provided from 'Alteration space is 100% accessible' to 'To the maximum extent that is
technically feasible' per IEBC 806.1 /705.1.
Accessibility wording has been changed under GENERAL INFORMATION on Sheet A1.0.
f. Deferred Submittals
i. Change on the plans the method of submittal(s) for the mechanical and plumbing work requiring a
permit from 'deferred' to 'separate'.
The 'deferred' has been changed to 'separate' under GENERAL INFORMATION on Sheet A1.O.
ii. Add to the plans the required separate permit for the alteration of the fire sprinkler system.
Alternation of the fire sparkler system note has been added Separate Permits under GENERAL
INFORMATION on Sheet A1.0.
On sheet A2.0 — Partial Main Floor Plan, Partial Reflected Ceiling Plan, Equipment Info & Details:
2. Partial Main Floor Reflected Ceiling Plan - Provide as part of a complete building permit application
submittal 2015 Washington State Energy Code (WSEC)'Compliance Forms for Commercial Buildings
including R2, R3, R4 over 3 stories and all R1' as required for the selections noted on the'Interior and
Exterior Alterations' section of the WSEC Lighting Summary — LTG -SUM — supporting the compliance of
the proposed installation. The completed forms must include'LTG-SUM','LTG-INT-SPACE' or'LTG-INT-
BLD' as applicable, and 'LTG-CHK', at a minimum. Alighting fixture schedule' that includes the lighting
fixture wattage and a lighting control narrative must be provided to verify that the methods utilized in
meeting the applicable provisions have been identified on the plans.
2015 Washington State Energy Code Compliance Forms for Commercial Buildings have been completed
and is attached in resubmittal. Lighting Schedule has been added to Sheet A2.0 and narrative has been
added under the Light Fixture Schedule.
