Dear Mr. Miller,
On behalf of Chris Toncray, thank you for taking the time earlier in the week to discuss these comments.
Please find our responses and revised sheets to address your comments.
1. Detail 2 — New -Construction Plan
a. Clarify on the plans the represented location of the 'trash receptacle' adjacent to the
entry door to each of the restrooms. It does not appear to meet/maintain the
required maneuvering clearance per ICC Al17.1-2009 Section 404.2.3. They may
be'flush- mounted' into the walls at the proposed locations.
• The Trash Receptacle located near the door has been eliminated. See
the attached revised plan.
b. Clarify the represented placement of the toilet compartment door in each of the
restrooms. It does not appear to provide the required maneuvering clearance from
the 'push -side, hinge -approach' of the door with a closer and a latch per ICC
Al17.1-2009 Section 404.2.3. Since it is apparent that the door cannot be easily re-
oriented to accommodate a 'push -side, latch -approach' without affecting access to
the toilet compartment, consideration may need to be given to eliminate the toilet
compartment partitions, determine the restrooms to be 'single -occupant' facilities,
and to provide privacy hardware on the primary doors to the restrooms
• See the attached plan for revised layout.
2. Detail 3 — Men's Toilet — South El — Remove and relocate to the 'Women's Toilet —South
El'the represented 'SND' — Sanitary Napkin Disposal.
a. SND has been changed from Men's to Women's Toilet, see the attached plan.
