Project: Accessory structure to SFR
Scope: Construct detached accessory structure — R-3 detached U occupancy groups —
V -B construction - sprinkler system not required— mechanical and plumbing not included.
Please find the attached drawings, Resubmittal 1, for the Madison's hobby wood working shop. All items
of concern have been addressed, as detailed below.
1. Page 2- Foundation Specifications- General Specifications. All footings are to be placed a
minimum of 18" below undisturbed grade, to assure they remain below the frost line. This is
also shown on the drawings, page 3 - Detail E.
Page 3- Foundation Specifications- Reinforcing Specifications. All foundation reinforcement to
be ASTM A615- Grade 60 Steel (Minimum). Conflicting statements on the drawings have been
corrected.
Page 3- Foundation Specifications- Details. Anchor bolts to be installed as follows: "1/2"x 10"
ANCHOR BOLT W/ NUT AND WASHER 6' O.C. MAX. MIN 7" EMBEDMENT, 2 BOLTS PER PIECE
WITHIN 12" OF EACH END. PLATE WASHERS 3X3X1/4"." Conflicting statements on the drawings
have been corrected.
4. Page 9, calculations- Post Load Chart: Considering Gravity Loads Due To Snow, Occupancy,
Wind, & Dead Weight — Post Location. Center Post Footing size has been increased to 21" x 24"
reducing the design load to 1713 psi, within the design soil bearing capacity. Also shown in the
drawings page 3, Foundation Plan.
