Dear Mr. Boyd:
This letter is to address the review comments made by the Engineer Department on February 1,
2018. The numbers of the responses correspond to the comments on the review.
Please note that the side sewer (for the subdivision) connection to the sanitary sewer main in
236th Street SW has been revised and approved by Olympic View Water & Sewer District. Final
version of sheets WS1 & WS2 (dated 1/26/18) are attached.
GENERAL
1) Submit Side Sewer Permit Application form
The Side Sewer Permit Application has been prepared and included with this
submittal.
SITE PLAN INFORMATION
2) Please show the proposed covered patio towards the back of the lot.

3) Add a note to the plan that temporary erosion and sediment control measures per
associated subdivision permit PLN20160014 need to be maintained throughout
construction. Otherwise, please submit a TESC plan for the single family residence.
Note #1 has been added.
4) Per the plan, the water service line connects to the existing water meter provided near
the southeast property corner. Add a callout labeling the water service line to be 1-1/2"
with tracer wire. Ensure the water meter is a 1" water meter.
Comments have been addressed.
5) Add a note to connect sewer to the side sewer approved under PLN20160014.
Note #2 has been added.
6) Please relocate the onsite sewer cleanout to be within 2' of the proposed residence.

7) Please add a note that the 6" cleanout at the property line shall have a 12" cast iron
lamphole cover with Y2" hexbolts.

9) Add a callout that footing drains are to connect to the footing drain stub approved
under PLN20160014.
Note #4 has been added.
10) Please provide an impervious area table on the plan as well as the maximum
impervious area allowed to discharge to the detention tank approved under
PLN20160014.

Jake, it looks good. MH #1, shown on the 2361h Street SW Profile on Sheet 2, is no longer being installed so you might
want to cross that out or delete it, and then renumber the remaining manhole. We will no longer need the 15' public
sewer easement dedicated to Olympic View but you'll want to maintain a 10' private easement up the drive. Also,
please change the water service note that was hand written on the previously approved set. It should say "New (1) 1"
Water Service With W Meter For Lot 2" instead of "New (1) W Water Service For Lot 2". Please make those
corrections and I will sign.

Hi Jake,
The District is amenable to the concept you've shown on the markup. However, since we are unable to connect to the
main at a manhole, the entire new line will be private and not part of the District's public system. You will be required
to replace the existing sewer stub from the tee at the main to the edge of ROW, with a cleanout at the ROW line per
District standards. Please revise plans as appropriate and resubmit for approval.

Dave,
We are having an issue with this project, the sewer and storm in the street (236t") have 7" between them and we are
unable to install the saddle manhole with an 8" coming off the main as approved on the plan. We met with Dustin and
Marty this morning and they said that I need to propose a fix to you for your review and approval. What we are
currently thinking (see attached drawing). Is instead of having the sewer run up the private road as a private side sewer,
instead of a DE. TV the existing 6" sewer stub that serviced the old residence and if possible reuse that and run a new 6"
line up to where we originally proposed the manhole in between 2 & 3 and then continue a 6" to pickup 3 & 4.
Please provide your thoughts and if you think this idea is serviceable we will have our engineer (LSA) get you a drawing.

Hello Jake,
If Dave hasn't responded already, he will be doing so soon.
I wanted to let you know that after reviewing the file for this project we noted that the original estimated DE's charges
does not include the cost of abandoning the existing V water service. We have a couple of options for you to consider.
Option 1— Leave the water service at the current location and tie in to it there. The District would install and
charge for three services at the location noted on the plans instead of four. The existing service line would need
to be upgraded with a new meter setter and a larger meter which would need to be paid to the District.
Option 2 — Continue as originally planned having the District install four new services and time and materials
would be charged for the abandonment of the existing service.
