see our response below and the attached, revised, drawings and supplementary documents. Let me know
at your earliest convenience if you have any questions or need any additional information.
1) SD2: Callout fire hydrant locations and status here, or on civils.
Response: Fire Hydrants are called out on attached sheet SD2 with keyed note #29, "(E) FIRE
HYDRANT TO REMAIN."
2) SD2: Callout "refresh fire lanae striping" here, or on civils.
Response: We have added keyed note #19, "REPAINT CURB W/ TWO COATS RED TO
MATCH EXTENT OF (E) FIRE LANE"; and keyed note #20, "PAINT `NO PARKING FIRE
LANE' W/ TWO COATS TRAFFIC YELLOW TO MATCH SIZE AND LOCATIONS OF (E)."
on attached sheet SD2.
3) Provide hazardous niaterial inventory statement (HMIS) for ongoing store inventory limits
of hazardous products, hazardous materials and flammable & combustible liquids. Include
cooking oil storage for SERVICE DELI.
Response: HMIS to follow shortly
4) FP -1: Provide description and detail for HAZARDOUS MATERIALS STORAGE RACK
at match line J-7.2

7) FP -1: Provide specifications & fuel storage capacity for diesel generator.
Response: See attached cut. sheet and installation manual
8) FP -3: Clarify EQUIPMENT/FIXTURE SCHEDULE for• BUILDING/RECEIVING indicates
120 gallon propane fuel for generator & GENERAL NOTE 3.
Response: See attached sheet FP3. General note #3 was removed as well as propane tank
removed from schedule as there will not be a propane tank at this store.
9) A2: Demarcate floor surrounding fire sprinkler riser area minimum 3' radius fi•orn riser
and fire protection equipment with yellow floor paint (match line J-6.9).
Response: Keyed note #72, "PAINT 2 COATS TRAFFIC YELLOW STRIPING ON THE
FLOOR AROUND FIRE SPRINKLER RISER AND FIRE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT TO
AN EXTENT OF 3' ON THREE SIDES", has been added to the FLOOR PLAN on attached
sheet A2.
10) A4: FRONT ELEVATION existing Knox box will remain. Contact fire marshal early in
project to open box and preser ve box for re -installation at approved location.
Response: Keyed note #25, "( E) FIRE DEPT. KEY BOX WILL REMAIN. CONTACT FIRE
MARSHAL EARLY IN PROJECT TO OPEN BOX AND PRESERVE BOX FOR RE-
INSTALLATION AT APPROVED LOCATION", has been added to the Front Elevation on
attached sheet A4.
I1) A4: REAR ELEVATION: Add Knox box at DOOR 126D for fire control access (key
note #27).
Response: A knox box, called out with keyed note #27, has been added between man door
#126D and overhead door #126E, on the Rear Elevation, on attached sheet A4.
12) A20: Provide comrrrents to consideration of high rack combustible storage and fire
protection design requirements. Are "in -rack" sprinkler provisions indicated: why, or why
not!
Response: Sprinkler system design provisions are indicated on sheet FO and sprinkler system is
designed for 20' Rack Storage of Class IV commodities. The ceiling sprinkler system design
density (.80 gpm/ft2) provided is adequate per NFPA 413 so that in -rack sprinklers are not
required.
13) A24: Provide building address "21900" 0eivable ftorn Highway 99 frontage on
contrasting background.
Response: Sheet A4, keyed note #14 has been modified to include text "CONTRACTOR
SHALL COORDINATE SIZE, TYPE AND LOCATION WITH LOCAL AUTHORITIES FOR
APPROVAL AND FINAL INSPECTION."
14) A24: Provide: "'FIRE PROTECTION CONTROLS" or approved language on sign for
DOOR 126A. 12 "x12 " minimum sign on red reflective stock and white letters.
Response: Sign ES 147 has been added to the INFORMATION SIGNAGE SCHEDULE on
attached sheet A24; Also, note "INSTALL SIGN ES 147 ON EXTERIOR SIDE OF DOOR, RE:
A23" was added to door 126D on attached sheet Al2.

15) F0.0: FIRE SPRINKLER PLANS FOR REFERENCE ONLY, SEE SEPARATE PERMIT
FOR APPROVED INSTALLATION.
Response: Agree that plans are for reference only. Separate permit and submittal for the fire
sprinkler system will be provided including detailed shop drawings, calculations and product data
for material used.
16) F0.0: Reference site plan indicates new 8"fire main. Callottt engineering details on civil
plans.
Response: There will not be a new 8" fire main. The new 8" fire main was called out in error on
sheet F0.0. The site plan reference has been corrected to indicate existing 8" fire service. This
revision will be included in the separate submittal for the fire sprinkler system permit. Civil plans
were not done for this project due to the very limited site work scope.
17) F3, MI & Ml.l: Duct smoke detectors connected to building fire alarm system.
Response: The duct smoke detectors are connected to the building fire alarm system and are
indicated on the fire alarm drawings which will also be submitted under the separate permit for
the fire alarm system. Attached sheet M1, keyed note #17, and attached sheet M2,keyed note
#11, have been revised to indicate that all duct detectors will be interfaced with fire alarm system,
RE: F2 & F2.1.
18) F3: FIRE ALARM PLANS FOR REFERENCE ONLY, SEE SEPARATE PERMIT FOR
APPROVED INSTALLATION FIRE PROTECTION COMMENTS/CONDITIONS
Response: Agree that plans are for reference only. Separate permit and submittal for the fire
alarm system will be provided including detailed shop drawings, calculations and product data for
material used.
1.9) Fire District #1 will evaluate the necessity of'Distributed Antenna System (DAS) for
emergency communications (IFC 510) when site is available for testing. Additional permit
will be required if needed for• DAS system installation. Contact fire marshal early in
project.
Response: Agree. The building will need to be tested for the necessary emergency
communications and DAS system will be submitted for approval if necessary.
20) F3 Fire alarm permit include transmission means other than POTS for monitoring.
Response: The fire alarm system as designed utilizes both cellular and IP for monitoring
transmission. There are no POTS lines. This will also be included in the separate submittal for the
fire alarm system permit.
21) #12 above.
Response: See response to comment 12 above.
