Schools, the Edmonds School District has a need for one portable classroom at Chase Lake Elementary School due to a state mandated reduction in class sizes (student / teacher ratio). Chase Lake Elementary School has recently been designated as a high poverty school (over 50% free and reduced lunch). The state guidelines for high poverty schools has an even lower student / teacher ratio than non -high poverty schools. In order to successfully accomplish the educational mission and objectives of the District in accordance with applicable state and federal statues, regulation and guidelines, the District would like to provide one additional portable classrooms to provide the appropriate classroom space to accommodate reduced class sizes. I hope this helps better support the need for a portable classroom. Please don't hesitate with any questions regarding this matter.
