This request is necessary to sell our home within a reasonable length
of time, due to the oversized lot and high value attached to it; and the lower value
of a two bedroom home which we are selling. A conserative market appraisel has been
set at 418,000 for the entire lot and home, but since F.H.A. appra.isels will not
consider in the value of a home for sale extra land which may be attached to it, we
will be unable to finance through this the most common media of a. mortgage. This
leaves only two recorses, either to finance a sale through conventional financing
which would require at least $7,000 down payment or to split the lots and sell as
proposed below. Due to the extremely high darn payment on a conventional loan; this
method has been abandoned as out of the question, due to the Questionable length of
time it would take to sell the home under these terms.
qe hereby request the varience so that we may sell the home and the
E z of the said lot for $14,500 under F.H.A. secured loan, and sell the W of said 7
lot for 43,500 on a contract. This will enable us to sell the home quickly and buy
one which we have placed earnest money oniin Seattle. We are aware of a plat re—
striction which allows only one house to be built on the platted lot. We therefore
intend to either sell the w z of said lot on a contract to the purchasers of the
house or hold the W z ourselves until the above mentioned restriction is removed in
1962 as per plat restriction provisions.
fie have considered the possibility of acquiring extra land to make
up the defficiency but find it highly impractical since the ;Test boundary is boarded
by the landscaped and fenced lands of Mr. Rex Strickland; the East boundary is an
easement road in use; the North boundary is an Edmonds street; and the South boundary
is a lot platted by hr. Eidem which could not afford a piece to be taken from it.
Having lived in this area for a good many years we are assured that
our neighbors would not object to the partitioning and varience, since most of them
are in the same position as ourselves. Z /

. AGREEMENT TO AMEND RESTRICTIVE COVENANTS
WE, the undersigned, being a majority of the owners of the following de-
scribed property, situated in Snohomish County, State of Washington, more particu-
larly described as follows, to -wit:
Lots one (1) through twelve (12), inclusive, of Haggard's
Sound View Addition, Snohomish County, Washington, ac-
cording to plat thereof recorded in volume 12 of plats on
page 89, records of said County
DO HEREBY VOTE to amend the restrictive covenants contained in the instrument
recorded in volume 406 of deeds on page 529, records of said county, by amending
paragraph (a) thereof so that it will read as follows:
(a) All lots in this Addition shall be known and described as residential lots,
and may be sub -divided into not more than two (2) lots. No structures shall
be erected, altered, placed or permitted to remain on any lot other than one
permanent detached single family dwelling not to exceed two stores in height,
and a permanent private garage for not more than two cars, and such other
