S., Edmonds, WA. 98020 Dear Mr. Sherman, The City received a complaint regarding a junk vehicle at the subject property. You may not have been aware of City regulations regarding junk vehicles. The subject property was inspected on August 29, 2006 and there was a parted inoperable vehicle. The Edmonds Community Development Code (ECDC) addresses junk vehicles as follows: “Junk vehicles” are defined in ECDC 20.110.20.C as a vehicle meeting any two of the following requirements: (bold added) 1. Is three years or older; 2. Is extensively damaged, such damage including but not limited to any of the following: a broken or missing window or windshield or missing wheels, tires, motor, drive train, brakes or transmission; 3. Is apparently inoperable; 4. Is without valid current registration plates; 5. Has a fair market value equal to the value of the scrap in it. Corrective action required:  Please enclose in a legal structure or remove the junk vehicle or demonstrate that the vehicle is currently licensed and operable by September 18, 2006. Please note that a tarp is not considered enclosed. At your convenience and request, I can meet you at the subject property to review the violations.
