Subject: SHORELINE EXEMPTION FORENSIC INVESTIGATION AT 51 WEST DAYTON
Dear Mr. Gebre:
The City of Edmonds Planning Division has reviewed your letter dated April 28, 2008, requesting
exemption from the requirement to obtain a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit (SDP) for the
purposes of performing a forensic investigation on behalf of Comcast at 51 West Dayton Street. An
associated site plan indicated the approximate location of the work. As described in the supplied cost
estimate, the proposed work ($2,961.62) will not exceed the $5,718.00 threshold which would trigger the
need for a Shoreline SDP.
Upon review of the information provided, the City has concluded that the proposed work is exempt from
the need to obtain a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit pursuant to WAC Section 173-27-
040(2)(m). The initial right-of-way permit from the Engineering Division (ENG20080124) must still be
approved before site work can commence. Contact Engineering Technician Jennifer Collins for more
information regarding that permit.
If the scope of the project changes substantially, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Michael D. Clugston, AICP
