RE: Plan review for proposed trash enclosure
#2008-0204 Jones Bros. Condominium, 215 5th Ave. N
Tile location of the proposed trash enclosure at the southwest comer of the property is
appropriate, due to its relation to the existing alleyway. The finished inside size is shown
as 12' wide by 10' deep, which is the minimum required. The concrete slab shall be at
grade with the finished alley.
Two details need to be addressed. First the entire gated area needs to show 12' clear
when the gates are in the open position. Gate supports need to be placed so this is
accomplished. This also allows the gate sections to swing open to the minimum
requirement of just past 90 degrees. In this case the ability to swing to a full 180 degrees
is desirable. Appropriate drop pins or other hardware is required for proper positioning
of gates when open and closed.
Second, the opening shown on the enclosure's north side shall be shifted toward the east
comer along that wall or around the back (east) since the larger containers will be
positioned behind the gate sections and block that proposed opening.
