SKMBT_C45008051416570.pdfMay 14, 2008 TO: Warren LaFon FROM: Steve Fisher, City of Edmonds Public Works, 425-771-0235 RE: Plan review for proposed trash enclosure #2008-0287 Jantz Building, 547 Dayton St. The location of the proposed trash enclosure at the northwest comer of the property is appropriate, due to its relation to the existing alleyway. The approximate finished inside size is shown as 10' wide by 8' deep, which is the absolute minimum required. The concrete slab shall be at grade with the finished alley. Some details need to be addressed. First the entire gated area needs to show 10' clear when the gates are in the open position. Gate supports need to be placed so this is accomplished. This also allows the gate sections to swing open to the minimum requirement of just past 90 degrees. In this case the ability to swing to a full 180 degrees is desirable. Appropriate hardware, such as drop pins/pavement sleeves are required for proper positioning of gates when open and closed. Securing devices need to be indicated on the enclosure detail required under the general design standards, along with indication of gate swing's fullest extension. Please show an elevation, showing finished inside dimensions, including minimum height of 8' (since this area is entirely within the building), exclusive of lighting, sprinklers, etc.
