SKMBT_C450090731100501.pdfJuly 31, 2009 TO: Rick Klemm. kleinster@velizon.net FROM: Steve Fisher, City of Edmonds Public Works, 425-771-0235 RF,: Trash enclosure comment #2008-0938 Northcrest Condo, 620 Glen St. This is a further clarification to the Engineering Review Comments 2 you received from Jeanie McConnell, regarding the trash enclosure and the fact that relocation of the utility Dole is likely to interfere with the gate operation for the enclosure. This is a reminder that if such interference were to happen, the gates will still need to be able to swing open to a minimum of 110 degrees — basically a foot past 90 degrees. One solution may be to have the enclosure equipped with only one gate section instead of two. The support hinges would be on the east side allowing the gate to open away from the proposed pole location. Chain-link gates are acceptable within our enclosure policy and generally used for longer gate sections, with appropriate inserted vinyl slats. If this solution were chosen the gate would need to be able to swing farther — closer to 180 degrees, in order to be clear of the alleyway during servicing. Appropriate securing devices are still required for closed and open gates. Please indicate resolution in your response to Engineering Review Comments 2.
