I -T
is Plan review for proposed trash enclosure
BLD 2011-0450 — Scott's Grill & Bar, 8105 Lake Ballinger Way,
Edmonds, WA
MIKE COOPER
MAYOR
The plan for the trash enclosure, as proposed, does not meet our minimum size
requirements for adequate direct servicing of the current front -load collection containers
for this business. The number and size of the containers, their orientation and separation
all come into play when erecting screening around containers that have always been
accessible without any barriers. V
Adequate gate dimensions and safe truck approach become critical with a tight site as is
this particular area. Scott's does not have any other site at this time for this activity. An
additional enclosure that can be serviced in this location may result in some reduced
service levels for the business.
Therefore I am asking for some clarification on the following:
Will the existing enclosure continue to house collection container(s) and, if so:
Can that area be examined for remodeling or enlarging to meet minimum requirements and
provide a safe service approach?
Our handout #E-37 Garbage & Recycle Collection Enclosure & Access Policy is available
online at our city website www.ci.edmonds.wa.us. Click on City Goverm-nent, then
Development Services, to Building Division and then Handouts and Forms, scrolling to
#E-37. This outlines the minimum standards for these structures.
Please contact me (above) with any questions on the issues surrounding this application. I
am aware of comments from our Engineering Division on the neighboring property issue.
