Subject: Project BLD20180149 - Project Address: 23202 76th Ave W, Edmonds
As requested I have been out to the site and reviewed the infiltration trenches, and the location for the
pervious concrete as required by your permit conditions,
1. The area exposed for the pervious concrete is a tan silty sand. 12" of clean gravel and 6" of
pervious concrete is proposed in this area. This area appears to be adequate for this
placement. The surface of the soil should be scarified again before placing the rock.
The areas for the infiltration trenches had been terminated in the same tan silty sand They
were not dug deep enough into the grey sand. Since that time the trenches have been
extended deeper into the grey sand as confirmed by the attached photos. It is my opinion that
the drain rock and perforated pipe can be placed, the filter fabric placed over it per my detail
on the plan, and the trench backfilled per plan. The City detail shows filter fabric on the sides
as well as the top of the trench but given the silty sand on the sides, the water should
exfiltrate the trench and keep the fines out of the drain rock so I do not believe it is necessary
on the sides and should be able to be eliminated.
