Krazan & Associates, Inc. special inspector visited the above -named project
as per contractor's request and performed wood framing inspection for the entire
structure — units A, B, and C.
We reviewed structural drawings and identified shear walls that need special
inspection as per EOR.
Shear walls type 2, 3, and 4 were sheathed and fastened on all floors where
spacified on plans as per schedule S-1, see exceptions below. Hold-downs on 11'
floor, anchor bolts on first floor, floor -to -floor straps were done as per the
schedule.
Exceptions:
1) Shear wall type 4 on second floor of south elevation needs to be fastened at
2"OC with 8d (0. 1 48X2-1/2") as per plan. Currently nailed only at 4"OC.
2) Shear wall schedule called out LTP4 or A35 clips for bottom plate. As
discussed with the contractor, LTP4 clips can be added between the beam
and bottom plate thru OSB provided appropriate nailing size inorder to get
minimum penetration.
3) Strapings are missing @ pefrorated shear walls where noted on plans.
Contractor will need to add blockings behind and add straps type CS 16 as
required per 9/S-6.
4) Replace missing anchors on L1 for the shear wall in the west end unit as per
required spacing per schedule.
