Dear Applicant:
Thank you for submitting an application for a Conditional Use Permit (CU) for an Accessory Dwelling

Unit (ADU) at 22829 108 Avenue West in the Single-Family Residential (RS-8) zone.
1.Decision:
I have reviewed your proposal with compliance with the code and my staff decision is
attached. Please note that there are several required conditions of approval. Please read through the
report and contact me if you have any questions about the decision or about the next steps you must
take in order to finalize this land use approval.
2.Building Compliance Permit:
One of the conditions is that you follow through with an application
for a building “compliance permit” – please contact a Permit Coordinator at 425.771.0220 if you have
any questions about this required process. Please also consult handout #P1 and application form “A”
(enclosed). If you would like to replace the exterior stairs, please propose this through the building
permit process. As stated in the conditions of approval, you do not have approval for an ADU until
the building compliance permit process is completed.
3.ADU Covenant:
As required, a signed and notarized covenant must be recorded at the county (“ADU
Covenant” – sample shown in Attachment 9 of the staff report). I’m enclosing a legal-sized copy of
the ADU Covenant for you to sign before a notary public. Please see condition #5 of the decision and
decide how you would like to proceed (either I can record the signed covenant for you for a small
administrative fee, or you can take it up to get it recorded and return a copy to me). If you have
questions about where to find a notary public, please contact me.
