During review of the subject submittal it was found that the following information,
corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed:
1.
Overall a very good job on the storm drainage calculations.
2.
More information is needed on the sediment pond in the drainage report. For instance
what are the side slopes on the pond? Is the 645 sq ft surface area at the bottom of the
pond or the water surface area? What is the minimum depth of the pond for sediment
storage?
3.
The detention system only needs to be designed to detain for the 10-yr and 100-yr, 24
hour design storms in this area. The reason for the reduced detention is that the
drainage from this site stays in a piped conveyance system all the way to Puget
Sound. This would reduce the size of your detention system however you can choose
to continue detaining at a higher level. Because the drainage is piped directly into
Puget Sound Water Quality is required.
4.
Any construction activity on a site larger that one acre may require a DOE
Stormwater General Construction Permit Notice of Intent (NOI). As part of the City
of Edmonds NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) Phase II
Permit we are required to notify applicants of the need to get a construction NOI.
The NOI is a DOE requirement and any questions regarding it should be directed to
them. Here is the link to the DOE's NOI website
http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/wq/stormwater/construction/
The website has information on the NOI, the application form, and contact
information.
Please resubmit three copies of the revised plans/documents to a Development
Services Coordinator. You may contact me at 425-771-0220 if you have specific
questions regarding these plan corrections.
