Provide written responses to each comment and where changes can be found on the plans. Please resubmit revised plans to Marie Harrison, Permit Coordinator. 1.Sheet A0.1: a.Under General Conditions, revise UBC to IBC, National Fire Code to International Fire Code, and Uniform Mechanical Code to International Mechanical Code. b.Under General Project Information, revise Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fuel Gas and Fire Codes to 2006 edition. Revise ICC/ANSI A117.1 edition to 2003. Revise the edition of the NEC to 2005. Revise seismic zone to Seismic Design Category D, Frost Depth to 18”, and Wind Speed 85 mph with 3 sec. gust, revise occupancy to I2 for lower floor and B for upper floor, and revise Construction Type to VA fully sprinkled. c.List specific shop drawings and other deferred submittals and separate permits, such as Shop Drawings for the injector suspension system, State Electrical permit, 2.Sheet A0.4: a.Add information from “code plan legend” to the code plan (particularly for contractor and inspector to determining applicable fire rating of penetrations in the field). b.Revise/coordinate code editions as noted above. c.Revise/clarify note 5 IBC 17-A reference (assuming this should be IBC 601 for Type of Construction). 3.Clarify note 15 on Sheet A3.1 that it must be self-closing, 20 minute rated with “S” label. 4.Provide manufacturer’s information for CU-1 and AC-1 5.Provide elevation view showing exterior mechanical equipment and how it will be screened for aesthetics. This will be reviewed by our Planning Division. 6.New door hardware must be accessible (such as lever style). 7.The alterations require accessibility upgrades per IBC/WAC 3409.6. On the plans clearly show that the exterior and interior accessible route of travel complies with current code, or provide upgrades per the previously referenced section. If you choose to use exception #1 of that section, provide a letter stamped and signed by the architect (reference the code exception), stating what parts of the existing site and building are not accessible, the project cost and what 20% of it equals, list the upgrades that will be done as part of this permit as well as showing that the total cost of the upgrades is at least 20%. 8.See Fire Marshal comments under separate cover.
