Upon removing the existing door and frame, the General Contractor, Mike Motland, of Possibilities Unlimited has uncovered structural tie -downs at each jamb of the existing doorway. in reviewing the original documents, it is our opinion that it is technically infeasible to remove these hold downs, as it will pose structural implications to the integrity of the existing structure. In light of these unforeseen conditions, we are requesting that you allow the existing door width of thirty-two inches to remain. Per section 104 of the IBC, we are requesting that you review and approve this modification. Please do not hesitate to contact me it you have any questions or concerns.
