Old Milltown Building Renovation
Old Milltown Building (Phase I)
201-5 1h Avenue South
Edmonds, Washington
Dear Ms. Bullis:
JRP
ENGINEERING, INC.
This letter is in response to the City of Edmonds request for an update to our letter dated June 30,
2008 regarding the removal of the temporary shoring that was installed along the concrete
retaining wall situated along the east property line at the Old Milltown Building located at 201 —
5th Avenue South in Edmonds, Washington. The temporary shoring for the east foundation wall
was installed to brace the wall during the renovation of the building in anticipation of renovation
work to be performed in the east portion of the building.
The structural renovation of the Phase I west portion of the building consisting of new floor and
roof diaphragms and braced steel frames has been completed in accordance with the approved
plans. The Phase II east po> pion of the building has been restored to its original condition and is
in equal or better condition than it was originally. It is our opinion the concrete wall along the
east property line of the building has been restored to the condition and configuration it was in
prior to the renovation project and the temporary shoring may be removed from the building.
