However, since itiaorientated parallel hzthe new Panere building, it will limit the level of service by the |000| waste hauler. Allied VVaehs commented that this proposed nrientahunpnaventsthosafeapproaohfordirect"stobbing^ofany|argefronAoadoon1uinens. That limits service to roll- out type containers, the largest being 4 -cubic yard and increases collection frequency and costs. In a previous email to &1a. Patterson | suggested that the ideal orientation of the enu|oaure, which has the gated side facing due west toward the existing oncoming drive aisle, would allow the directapproach bythe waste trucks. You may want toconsider this orientation which basically flips the new enclosure 2O 3Odegrees toward the west. From myview you don't lose any parking but do sacrifice a triangular area of sidewalk on the south side of the structure. | realize in my review ofthese areas there often is o large degree of "disconnect" between the architect and the final property management ofthe project. I can only advocate for the best design that allows the full service options available, especially recycling and organics collection. This said, this resubmittal does rneet the minimum requirements for allowing collection to be provided. however ata limited level. One other technical iham to nob*. Our policy does not allow center posts in the gated area. However, if You decide to leave the enclosure in the proposed orientation. | will allow your gate design as shown in your detail. Roll-out containers will work with that, If you consider the other orientation, | cannot allow the center poot, therefore gate sections will need to be larger (which is why we recommend lighter chain-link for 0aten); tRa center post will be eUowab|e, if each gate section shows 12'minimumclear (pole topole) when inthe open position, (Your detail shows iO'4" clear each aeobon). This site is the old Barlee's Restaurant that is being converted into a Panera Caf6. Your email indicated that the existing trash enclosure did not meet current City requirements. We have since revised our plans to include a new trash enclosure that we believe will bring us into compliance. Our client is asking that you review the attached revised drawings and let us know if the proposed trash enclosure addresses your previous concerns and comments. Please feel free to call with any questions. Thanks for your help.
