The City of Edmonds Engineering Division has approved your fence permit. Your plans
indicate the existing open ditch along your south property line will be filled. A grading
pen -nit will not be required at this time as you are not proposing a fill in excess of 50
cubic yards.
However, in researching Edmonds View Estates and documents for your property the
purpose of the drainage ditch and easement on the southerly 10 feet of your property is to
collect surface water runoff and distribute it to the storm detention system for the plat. It
appears as though the open ditch does not receive significant surface flows due to the
installation of a drainage system on the properties to the south (subdivision -Sea Mountain
Estates) of Edmonds View Estates.
It is highly recommended however, that you maintain some sort of system in this area.
One option would be to install perforated drain pipe with washed rock and filter fabric as
shown in the detail provided below.

The west end of the perforated pipe would connect to the existing storm system for the
subdivision and the cast end would have cleanout for maintenance purposes. Please find
