RE: Plan review for required trash enclosure
2012-0925 — Walgreens, 9797 Edmonds Way, Edmonds WA
In reviewing the proposed trash collection areas for this Walgreens location it is noted that
the two compactor units located on the north side of the building include required
screening and appropriate -sized gates. However the type of material used for the screening
and gates is not labeled. Our enclosure policy requires any screening to be of solid
material construction, with the option of allowing chain-link (with inserted slats) for any
gate design. Please indicate what materials will be used for these elements.
Also, the local hauling company, Republic Services, has reviewed this proposal and
indicates that the size and location, access and approach, along with orientation of the
compactors will work for proper servicing. Further, there is a "Tote Enclosure" also
located along the north side of the building (construction material not noted). As it is
assumed that the compactors will be used for main garbage and cardboard service, please
indicate the waste stream intended for service at the Tote location.
Let me know if you have any questions,.
