RE: Plan Check: 2008-0377
Project: Replace Siding
Project Address: 23000 Edmonds Way, Building 1
During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses to each comment as to how it
has been addressed (support with code sections where applicable), and where changes can be found
on the plans. Please submit revised plans/documents to Theresa Umbaugh, Senior Permit
Coordinator.
1.Provide a detailed written scope of work to be done. Be specific such as replacement of fire
resistive materials; work to be done to decks, eaves, and soffits; dryrot repair; replacement of
sheathing, etc.
2.The permit application notes that the residing will only be done on Building 1. Clearly show
this on the plans, and again be specific as noted in #1 above.
3.The buildings on this property were built while under Snohomish County jurisdiction, so the
City does not have the approved building plans in archives (please contact Snohomish County to
see if they have the original approved plans). County assessor records show the buildings were
built in 1989, so were likely built under the 1985 UBC, possibly even the 1988 UBC. It also
appears from the plans provided that many of the buildings are connected by walls, balconies,
covered walkways, etc. Please provide the following information on the plans so we can
continue the review:
a.Code underwhich the buildings were built
b.Type of Construction for the buildings
c.Fire rated exterior walls, projections, walkways, etc.
d.Assumed or imaginary property lines and dimensions from the buildings and
projections to these property lines.
4.Where the above information shows work being done to parts of the building that required fire
resistive construction under the applicable UBC edition, clearly show this on the plans,
including listed/tested fire rated assemblies.
